Ehren Posted August 28, 2011 at 12:05 PM Author Posted August 28, 2011 at 12:05 PM Slate (light and dark) now available for 3.2
AndrewL Posted August 28, 2011 at 12:41 PM Posted August 28, 2011 at 12:41 PM Just been playing with Slate, looks nice. Just one thing, on my Android Galaxy S, some pages... as well as the LOADING message.... seem to go off the page whe viewing portrait. Is that a bug perhaps? Thanks.
Ehren Posted August 28, 2011 at 01:19 PM Author Posted August 28, 2011 at 01:19 PM Does the same issue happen on the default mobile skin? Particularly hard to diagnose since I just have access to an iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4.
AndrewL Posted August 28, 2011 at 01:32 PM Posted August 28, 2011 at 01:32 PM No, the default one seems to not do that.....
timestandstill Posted August 28, 2011 at 06:10 PM Posted August 28, 2011 at 06:10 PM Slate's respect for the iPhone's retina display is reason enough to use it... good work there
Ehren Posted August 29, 2011 at 12:00 AM Author Posted August 29, 2011 at 12:00 AM No, the default one seems to not do that..... If you can find out what seems to be causing it (or maybe get a few screenshots), I'll see if I can find a solution. The slate skin is based off the default mobile skin, so it seems like a weird issue..
AndrewL Posted August 29, 2011 at 06:18 AM Posted August 29, 2011 at 06:18 AM I will compare and try to let you know. I'm having problems recognising what the differences are between the default mobile skin and this. Can you tell me what the main differences are please?
Ehren Posted August 29, 2011 at 06:44 AM Author Posted August 29, 2011 at 06:44 AM Like all skins, it's just visual. The aim was to neaten up the default mobile skin a little since some areas/colours looked a little amateur. No new features as such, but it does work nicely with the high resolution displays (retina on iphone 4, etc). The features are listed on the slate skin page.
AndrewL Posted August 29, 2011 at 06:56 AM Posted August 29, 2011 at 06:56 AM Thank you. My mistake Ehren, it seems that on my Android phone the same thing happens with the default skin. Sorry about that. How do we get the icon on the phone display? (IS that new to your skin?) Thanks
Ehren Posted August 29, 2011 at 07:08 AM Author Posted August 29, 2011 at 07:08 AM The icon on the homepage is a bookmark feature on the iPhone. I'm not sure how other phones handle it. Bookmarks can be added for all sites. The slate skin comes with an icon for the forum (which I don't believe is included with the default mobile skin). They're referred to as "Web apps", so they don't necessarily behave the same as normal phone apps.
The Heff Posted August 31, 2011 at 08:14 PM Posted August 31, 2011 at 08:14 PM Any skin changes required for IPB 3.2.2?
AndresMartinez Posted September 1, 2011 at 01:14 AM Posted September 1, 2011 at 01:14 AM Would like to know as well. It seems like most fixes won't affect the skin, but wasn't sure. I'd like to update 3.2.2. right away, as long as it doesn't break anything with the skin.
Ehren Posted September 1, 2011 at 01:43 AM Author Posted September 1, 2011 at 01:43 AM I've just finished updating the skins on my development board. There were a few upgrades required, particularly with the blogs and gallery. I'll announce here and on twitter when the 3.2.2 skins have been released. A couple of hours and we'll be good.
LandOfOoo Posted September 1, 2011 at 02:39 AM Posted September 1, 2011 at 02:39 AM Friendly reminder! Don't forget to skin those offline pages. Keep up the good work.
Ehren Posted September 1, 2011 at 06:23 AM Author Posted September 1, 2011 at 06:23 AM All current 3.2.1 skins are now compatible with 3.2.2 + all addons.
Tophon Posted September 1, 2011 at 12:23 PM Posted September 1, 2011 at 12:23 PM Ehren, as last time, would it possible to get a list of the files that will need edits again please?
Ehren Posted September 1, 2011 at 02:20 PM Author Posted September 1, 2011 at 02:20 PM The attached zip file contains a html document listing all of the changes. diff-321-322.zip
AndrewL Posted September 2, 2011 at 07:55 AM Posted September 2, 2011 at 07:55 AM Do we need to uninstall and install updated files for 3.2.2? THank you!
Ehren Posted September 2, 2011 at 08:15 AM Author Posted September 2, 2011 at 08:15 AM Some new replacements were added in my premade skins on 3.2.2, so it's suggested you install from scratch.
AndrewL Posted September 2, 2011 at 11:08 AM Posted September 2, 2011 at 11:08 AM OK will do once my board gets updated to 3.2.2 Thank you!
loz Posted September 2, 2011 at 11:53 AM Posted September 2, 2011 at 11:53 AM Is it easy to add new template bits to a current skin Ehren, that is, without installing the skin from scratch?
maidos Posted September 2, 2011 at 09:59 PM Posted September 2, 2011 at 09:59 PM just curious would it still be ok to not update the sin 3.2.2 even if your ipb is 3.2.1? there wont be any template issues?
Ehren Posted September 2, 2011 at 11:55 PM Author Posted September 2, 2011 at 11:55 PM Is it easy to add new template bits to a current skin Ehren, that is, without installing the skin from scratch? No new template bits were added, just a new replacement. But there was a considerable amount of changes which were made between 3.2.1 and 3.2.2 just curious would it still be ok to not update the sin 3.2.2 even if your ipb is 3.2.1? there wont be any template issues? If you are using IPB 3.2.1, then don't update the skin. Only update your skin if you update your forum
The Heff Posted September 3, 2011 at 05:35 PM Posted September 3, 2011 at 05:35 PM 3.2.2 installed, skin applied, modifications complete.
