Ehren Posted May 11, 2023 Author Posted May 11, 2023 That’s likely a bug with the theme system. Updating the parent probably doesn’t update the version number in the database of child themes, so they appear to look outdated. Safe to ignore, if it doesn’t annoy you too much

nodle Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 I made a post about this on IPS, and they say this is the correct behavior? So, does this mean every time we update, we will be stuck with a red error about this? You would think it would pull the version number over since technically your child theme has inherited the code from the parent theme? Is there any way around this @Ehren, or will we be stuck having to change modifications each time to make the warning message to go away? Ehren Posted May 13, 2023 Author Posted May 13, 2023 There might be a “developer/backend reason” for why that behavior happens. If the “update available” badge bothers you, I guess the only way to fix it is to change over to a “single theme” structure instead of a parent/child structure.

If you haven't yet purchased the forum software, you will need to get it from IPS. I mean, I use ipb 4.2.8 and my theme is from that version. I want to update my theme to 4.7, it is possible since version 4.7 has several changes

To log into your admin panel input the following URL in the browser's address bar: https://your site/admin/ Of course, if you do not have permissions not possible to log in. You must be an administrator or a user assigned by administrator to access the administrator panel. Other way to do it: do not click on your username directly (not sure where exactly you are clicking on it) but instead expand the user menu visible on the top of the main page and select a matching item from the menu. Again, if you do not see it then you have no permissions to access the panel. 2. Anyway, when you will log in successfully then in the Admin Panel (in short "ACP") you will go to: a "brush icon" on the left side panel > Customization > Themes. And there you can change themes.

Wait do I have to host my site in order to get the to the https://your site/admin/? See FAQ. Themes here are only available for already hosted sites running Invision software. Invision offers two different solutions for hosting: Cloud Plans - They will setup everything for you. Self-hosted Plan - You need to setup a site yourself from scratch (domain, server, installing Invision software). No matter which solution selected then you will have Admin Control Panel (https://your site/admin/) where you can install and modify themes.
