I don't think it'll be entirely discontinued, however it may receive a heavy redesign. It is not currently included as part of the "free 4.x upgrade" group. Most themes can be customized to include any sort of colour.. Shift, Subway and Ortem are particularly easy to edit. If you're after a dark design, Carbon will be upgraded for 4.x (however free 4.x upgrades do not apply to that theme at this stage). 1
