Need help with building new gaming community

I saw someone post this http://thedadsarmy.com/ in a previous post and want to be able to build a site like this. I have IP.Board and IP.Content and IP.Calendar. I did a previous install on my server and had ip.board and ip.content installed but cant figure out how to get a homepage/frontpage. I have www.domain.com/forums where the stuff is installed but don't no how to make a front page and have a tab that says Home to the left of the forums tab. I want a front page on www.domain.com with no /forums stuff.

It's also probably best to keep your forums in the main index of your domain instead of moving them into a separate forums folder. You can simply set a default application in your configuration files which will determine the homepage.
