Telemacus Posted September 3, 2012 at 11:56 PM Posted September 3, 2012 at 11:56 PM Hi there! I'm thinking about buying a new skin and I was wondering about this: - Let's say I install ipbforumskins1. I make it the default skin so everyone is using it. Now, I have an app (designed for my site only) that always gives me trouble with skins other than the default ipbskin. Thus, my question is, can I use ipbforumskins1 and somehow force the ipb skin when users use that particular app, but when they get back to the forums, it switches back to ipbforumskins1?
Ehren Posted September 4, 2012 at 02:37 AM Posted September 4, 2012 at 02:37 AM Hi Telemacus, I've just done a search in the admin cpanel, and I believe it's possible by using a URL Map. Click the arrow next to your skin name and choose "Manage URL Mapping" from the dropdown menu. From there, add a new URL and the skin should *hopefully* automatically swap when you're viewing the custom application. I've never done this myself, but I'm sure the IPS staff will be able to help if you have any further questions.. Hope that helps!
Telemacus Posted September 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM Author Posted September 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM Thanks Ehren, I just got this from ipb staff: Yes, URL mapping does sound like the option you need. If you need help setting it up, please send me the Admin CP details for your forum and the name of the custom application and skin you would like it to use. So, yes, that's good news indeed! 1
