As it turns out, if you're trying to edit the Engraved skin from ipbforumskins, it really helps if your select Engraved (and not Elegant from Skinbox) when you're working with the CSS.

I've done that many times in the past.. have tried to make changes to one skin, only to find out I've ruined another by replacing it's css with entirely different code.
