Dark Theme

Which Dark Theme is closest to Novus ... by that I mean essentially the same property control sheets, positioning of the header, ability to upload jpg for header, user controls etc. ?   Deflection or one of the others ?

Dimension Dark is actually quite close. It has some slight differences (such as the background-image in category headers), but it's vaguely similar to Novus overall.

Ok, well not what I had hoped.    I was looking for a dark match for Novus as I'm quite happy with it ... but the switch needs to be seamless except for colors.

We use an "old school" graphical logo (basically a simple rectangular layered .jpg of the site name over pictures)   which doesn't look to be compatible since we don't use a background-image. Even using a solid color background won't quite work as our design uses a slightly different color for the category headers. 

I suppose the option is to modify the colors within Novus to create its own dark theme. I don't know if that's permitted within the license to create a separate derivative.   I've looked at it and its close ... and certainly would purchase another Novus copy if needed instead ... but there are a few elements that are hard to identify/change (like the band at the top of a forum listing of topics which contains the "mark forum as read" and "sort by" options)  which means some assistance in identifying those elements for custom css.

Unfortunately we're not in a financial position for a completely custom theme.

If you're able to wait for a few weeks (or maybe a month or two), I'd like to eventually release a dark version of Novus. I don't have any ETA's yet, but it's something I've considered for my future todo list.

Our problem is , I'm sure along with others, the fact that version 4.5 broke a few apps we use, and changed the standard theme and also affected the other 3rd party themes we use in their handling of resizing the header so that our Logo now renders about 1/2 sized ... we are a CIC acccount and we need to migrate to the most current version to maintain our maintenance and service. 

Fixing all the issues is taking time and the other theme developer has been non-responsive making whatever changes are needed to be compatible with 4.5.  Don't know how long we can just "hold off" on doing the update.

So depending on how things all work out, we could wait for a Novus Dark ... or.... I can try to work with Dimension.  I am surprised that Deflection wasn't close .... looking at the demo's it seemed closer with mostly some simple changes to section and widget title bar background color.

 I don't have the knowledge to dig into the new IPS default theme to see if there is a way to change/work around the header size ... obviously there is as you've done it ... your implementation of Novus solves our logo / header issue.  Even if I could solve the issue with the IPS default theme (which probably is just a custom css addition) , I will maintain Novus and potentially a Novus Dark as options for our members. 

So, looks like we're in a holding pattern for now.
