Is there a way to change the animated space image in the header? If so, where can I add my own animated image?

It's very simple to change the banner image, however you are not listed as a customer. You must first purchase the skin if you wish to use it on your forum. If not, it must be removed.

I do not currently own the skin, I was wondering if I could change the banner image before ordering the skin so I can use it

Yep - the image can be replaced very easily using the same process as any other image
