Yeah it's pretty insane. I'm south of that so won't experience any of the cyclone (and was lucky enough to escape the floods too). Not the best year for Queensland though..

We were in Cairns about 4 years ago - drove down to Sydney.

Nice area - but full of Japanese tourists!
