Group Formatting getting pushed on to new line if it contains an image

Question

Since upgrading to 4.1.17.1 (I skipped 4.1.17), any group formatting that contains an image is being forced on to a new line:

Screen Shot 2016-12-21 at 3.00.37 pm.png

The issue occurs on all themes (Default + Dimension).

I reported the issue to IPS support (because the fact that it happens on all themes sounds like a software bug to me) but they flat out refused to help me (twice, two different support staff).

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Here's the group formatting code:

<img src="https://doublereds.org.au/favicon.ico" height="20" width="20"> <b><span style='color:#FA1000'> Group Name </span></b>

Thanks in advance.

IPS modified some of the styles for tags and group names in .17 which caused a few bugs.

I've patched the above issue (as far as I know) on my development board, but the files in the client area don't have that patch yet. It's planned for the next update when .18 is released.

Just to confirm... are you saying it's a theme issue (and even IPS haven't fixed the Default theme yet) and you'll be releasing the patch with .18 for your themes?

Or are you saying it's an IPS bug and they've told you it'll be patched with .18?

It's an IPS bug since it's happening with the default theme. There's nothing wrong with your prefix code.

I've fixed it in my own themes, which I'll release once .18 is available.

I'm not sure if IPS are fixing it with their theme in .18

Try to use:

Hey @Ehren, I'm on .18.2 running the latest versions of your themes atm and I'm still getting this problem on the profile page.

Using Titan, Dimension, Engraved and Wireless.

There may be a few issues causing this.

I added the same prefix as yours (image, bold, span).. but the text was truncated after I saved it so the rest of the style tag was excluded, which broke the theme (including the default theme).

The second issue is that <span>s are potentially breaking the layout. Try removing them and just using the bold text instead.

The <span>s are not in the group formatting setting code:

First box:

Second box:

</b>

Are you saying I should remove the <span>s from the actual themes?

Actually, your site is working fine for me.. What browser are you using?

That website is fine. It's https://ranks.starfind.net/ I'm having issues with, but it's very locked down so you might not be able to see it.

I'm using Safari 10.0.3 on macOS 10.12.3... but yeah, it's fine on that website you were looking at.

EDIT: So I just realised earlier in this thread I had the issue with the DoubleReds website. I have no idea what changed except for IPS and theme updates.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the Display Name History button, because other people that haven't changed their display names in the same group don't have the problem.

Same issue with the default theme? If so, I'd suggest reporting it at IPS :)

Negative:

Only happening on the IPSFocus themes. :(

Looks like on the IPSFocus themes the Display Name History button is getting pushed down a line when it should be on the same line as the person's name.

I have the same problem but appears it's only on tablets? Happens on IPS theme also.

Seems like it only happens to "Administrators" because other ranks which have less characters work fine.
